LA TRIENNALE
INTENSE PROXIMITE3

April 20 / August 26 2012 - Palais de Tokyo

Presented from April 20 to August 26, 2012, the 3rd edition of the Triennale - Intense Proximity is a success in the new Palais de Tokyo. On three floors and over 22 000 m2 is developing an ambitious and stimulating project directed by Okwui Enwezor around a reflection on otherness and the role of ethnography in contemporary art.

The cosmopolitan, and transgenerational selection offers over 1200 works and celebrates photography, collage, film and video. At the show, a hundred creators: Walker Evans, Claude Levi-Strauss, Sarkis, sculptures of the Croatian Ivan Kozaric, collages by Claude Closky, Thomas Struth and his beautiful series of Paradise, a video of Adel Abdessemed (Odradek, 2011) and many other surprises.

For Intense  Proximity, the French artist Camille Henrot realized a new work with ikebanas entitled: Is it possible to be revolutionary and love the flowers? As for Annette Messager, she presents an incredible aerial installation Motion / Emotion where "beings restless wave, hop, touch, waving and laughing, like a fairground ride."

This Triennale reinvented in this exceptional palace is one of the big artistic meetings of 2012. It is obviously inevitable !
